Essay Contest
The First Year Writing Program sponsored an Essay Contest for students enrolled in Composition I and II. Students whose core essays demonstrated excellence were encouraged to submit their essays to the contest. Essays were judged by a team of Composition faculty. One essay for each core essay assignment was chosen. Winners were awarded a cash prize by Pearson Publishing, the publisher of Troyka & Hesse’s Quick Access. The First Year Writing Program faculty and staff are proud to display these student essays and proud of the student writers whose work stands as models of excellence for our writing program.
