| LIT 5589 Studies in Gender and Fiction Writing This course will explore how place or geography affects gender boundaries and borders in fiction by contemporary Native authors. Some of the authors will include: Louise Erdrich, Leslie Marmon Silko, Linda Hogan, Stephen Graham Jones, Sherman Alexie, Thomas King, and Greg Sarris. This is both a reading and writing intensive course; we will study contemporary Native fiction and current literary theory, especially in the areas of gender studies, borders studies, and Native studies. |
