Sponsored by the Burnett Honors College, Promising Scholar Awards are open to all English majors, regardless of affiliation with the honors program. Four scholars are awarded $100 each. Applicants for the Promising Scholar Awards should expect a graduation date of no earlier than Fall 2024. Applicants must submit one piece of writing no longer than ten pages (poets submit up to ten poems).

To apply, please submit digital copies of all application materials via Access 2 Opportunities (A2O) by the deadline.
Applicants must be enrolled English undergraduate majors or graduate students during the semester of application and the semester in which the award is granted. Students may apply for more than one scholarship (see guidelines for details).
